His name is Deng Li, 57 years old this year, and he is engaged in technology research and development full-time in Chongqing Shundoli Locomotive Co., Ltd., serving as the deputy general manager of technology innovation and the director of the company's technology research and development center. Recently, 67 people in Chongqing were rated as National Model Workers and Advanced Workers in 2020, and Deng Li is one of them. The oil pump that has been repaired for three days and nights
Deng Li is a native of Bishan, Chongqing. He entered the foundry industry after graduating in 1986. In the foundry industry at that time, new entrants had to stay on the production line for at least two to three years. The casting work is not only hard, but also very boring. In the end of the 35 classmates in the class, only 3 people were sticking to their old line. Speaking of hard work, Deng Li recalled a past event in 1993.
"That was when I had just started working and the oil pump broke down. At that time, I bought an oil pump for about 5,000 yuan. In an age when the middle-income group's salary was only a hundred yuan a month, this oil pump can be said to be quite valuable." Deng Li said.
As a front-line skilled worker, repairing the oil pump naturally fell on Deng Li's head.
An oil pump is more than 100 kilograms. It will be installed immediately after repair. If it cannot be used, it must be disassembled and repaired.
"In my impression, it was repaired for three days and three nights. I took it apart, grinded, installed it back, and removed it again and again... I did not know how many times it was repaired." Deng Li recalled, after repairing the oil pump, He couldn't stand up.
On the front line, Deng Li has tasted all the hard work, and now he is already a leader in the industry, all types of machines, as long as they listen to the noise, you can know if there are any problems.
Lead the team to solve global problems
Deng Li has won many awards including the Chongqing May 1st Labor Medal, the National May 1st Labor Medal, and the First National Outstanding Foundry Engineer Award.
In 2011, Shundoli's products faced a difficult transformation from motorcycle parts to auto parts. At that time, the air-conditioning compressors of middle and high-end automobiles were all imported. As the director of the company's technology research and development center, Deng Li decided to break through this monopoly and develop high-standard automobile air-conditioning compressors!
After more than one year of research and development, Deng Li led the team to overcome the core technical difficulties of ultra-high speed, ultra-low speed, vacuum, extrusion, temperature control and other core die-casting technologies, and solved the global problems of automobile air-conditioning compressor leakage and high-precision processing. Not only has the automobile air-conditioning compressor been manufactured, but the processing technology of key parts has also reached the leading level in the industry.
At present, the company has entered the supporting system of three of the world’s top 500 auto parts companies Hanon, Valeo, and Nexteer. It supplies 6 million sets of air-conditioning compressors and steering gears to mid-to-high-end vehicles such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volvo, and Tesla. Die casting parts have been recognized by the world's high-end automobile companies.
Since 2017, Deng Li has led the scientific research team to actively work on the research and development of new products and technologies for electric air conditioners and liquid die forging.
